I went to Stevenson's today (mid November 2023) and bought the last-last Balium. Prior to that, I went there and bought the previous last-last Core, a Rexor. I don't know where they keep getting them but I will keep going back until I get banned for asking for them.

Hi! I think i once before told you, you write greatly! About that grip section, are you quitequite sure that that isn't Kylo Ren's long lost lightsaber, eh??? Thanks, as usual most entertaining! Vic, from Portugal...

Thanks! Good point, it's very possible given the number of materials that it is also made of lightsaber. Or a fish skeleton.

Hi, I came across this review of the Rotring Core on a link from your Vacuum history post. I happen to own the full set of Core's in the Orange/Gray combo. Fountain, Rollerball, Ballpoint & Mechanical Pencil. I have loved them since day 1. They are some of my earliest pen collectables & have used then heavily & the age is starting to show in the rubber parts slightly cracking. But I love them & I love your review!! I couldn't stop laughing!! Thanx.

This. This post may be the most glorious one you've written to date. Or in the top ten (where there is one top spot shared by ten+ posts, and the rest of the posts share the second spot).

What a beast, what a magnificent speciment!

It has Engrish-levels of odd phrases, a design with some elements that could fit wanna-be-upscale-conference-centres-free-pens, it takes no hostages and the different colour schemes has different patterns? Glorious. I feel I have been transcended by learning about it, and reading your thorough odyssey of it.

Thanks! And "odyssey" is the right word. The research for this one was fun—just the right balance of accessible info and total mystery.

The colors on this one genuinely make the pen look less outlandish to me. Maybe because it's blinded me in the same spirit as staring directly at the sun. Awesome find though, I'd be just as excited!!

Oh yeah, it was really a treat to be like YES I WAS LOOKING FOR THAT and have it turn out to be like $22 USD or whatever. Most of the real weird stuff is $100+ and more likely in the $300+ range so it was nice to be able to pick it up without a second thought.
