I love this post. It's really on point and thoughtful while still being amusing and just a tiny bit snarky. Full disclosure, I do own 2 L2Ks and do have some previous Chinese tribute pen to the Lamy. It's not oily, but does dry out quickly, which the Lamys never do.
Adding one more reason: you want a colored version of the Lamy 2000 but you think that doubling the price for the blue version is maybe definitely not worth it. (Note: I have both pens and love them both!)

Thanks! And having experienced both dry-out and oily, dry-out is preferable (if you have to deal with one of them).
One more reason: you want to be able to drop it without having a heart attack because you dropped the real deal!

That too! I actually wanted the avocado one but they didn’t have it in UEF.
