I just bought my first stub and was definitely taken aback that no, I really can’t just do regular writing with it. But I’m getting the hang of it and enjoying it a lot for fancy/fun stuff.
Welcome! You can do regular writing with one of the little stubs, but they’re really so subtle it’s hard to tell unless you hold it just right. The 0.5mm Super5 (available on Amazon in USA and in some retail shops in Europe) is a good one to try there.
Architects: have never tried one and part of me thinks “a pencil” is the *real* architect nib. It’s on my someday list though!
You put it under your pillow and then the nib fairy will come, but only if you truly believe. She is coworkers with the tooth fairy—so if you put the gold nib bit *and* a tooth under your pillow at the same time you’ll get a gold tooth. That’s how those are made.
So what is your stance on flex stub nibs? Abominations? Olive branches in the great war?
